Anyone who remembers this year will know what a nightmare it was , the Railways were slain by the media, the snow that fell was a fine powder and not wet slush, this caused havoc on SR..............

My home station where I started my railway Career in May 78, I've seen some awful changes over the years, the worst being the closure of the Drivers Depot and Yard. This collection shows the station from 1980 onwards

Welcome
This Gallery is dedicated to the memory of Driver John Neve,of Ramsgate Depot, who sadly passed away in August 2003.

This gallery hopefully stirs a few memories of former colleagues and the way the Railway operated once upon a time, - perfectly well without the need for complications. The majority of pictures are of Kent Coast EMUs,and other Motive Powere synonomous with the Southern, the original MK 1 slam door stock, which we thought would never be replaced, the popular little 33s, themselves now gone, and the slab sided 73s, themselves all withdrawn but starting to make a come back. I hope you enjoy the Gallery

4 CEP unit 1545 at Margate forming the 13:12 to Charing Cross. The last EMU I drove before being promoted to Management, Ironic that my last train should also be from Where I started my railway Career in May 1978. Happy Memories
